CVE-2024-31191Network attack vector

Denial of service via malformed multipart reply

Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in libfluid 0.1.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt an OpenFlow component with a malformed meter reply. MultipartReplyMeter::unpack reads beyond the supplied OpenFlow multipart-reply buffer while parsing meter data; further root-cause detail is undisclosed. Exposure requires an application that integrates libfluid_msg and accepts OpenFlow traffic from an untrusted network; the reported consequence is component denial of service.
