Service interruption via table-features multipart request parsing
Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Open Networking Foundation libfluid 0.1.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt an OpenFlow controller. The MultipartRequestTableFeatures::unpack routine reads beyond the supplied buffer while parsing an OpenFlow 1.3 table-features multipart request; the exact missing bounds check is not publicly documented. Exposure requires an application that embeds libfluid_msg and passes attacker-controlled OpenFlow messages to this routine; published material limits the confirmed outcome to service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
