CVE-2024-31154

Privileged escalation via undisclosed UEFI input validation

Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Improper input validation in Intel Server S2600BPBR UEFI firmware allows local users with high privileges to escalate privileges. Intel has not published the affected UEFI component, input source, or validation operation that mishandles the input. Exploitation requires high privileges, local access, high complexity, and an additional platform condition; success compromises firmware-mediated confidentiality, integrity, and availability across a security boundary.
