CVE-2024-31070Network attack vector

Unauthenticated device access via enabled Telnet default

Published Jul 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Insecure Telnet defaults in Century Systems FutureNet NXR, VXR, and WXR firmware allow remote attackers to gain unauthenticated device access. Affected firmware enables the Telnet service in the factory-default configuration instead of leaving it disabled, exposing the documented default CLI login. Network reachability to the Telnet port is sufficient, and successful access exposes the device's administrative CLI and configuration.
