CVE-2024-31013Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored script execution via unfiltered footer setting

Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Mar 17, 2025

Stored XSS in emlog Pro 2.3 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser through the footer_info setting. The administrative settings handler passes footer_info through postStrVar() without sufficient character filtering and stores it for direct rendering at the bottom of homepage article views. A crafted value must reach the settings write path, and code runs only when a user loads affected homepage content, exposing that browser session to script-controlled data access or actions.
