Authenticated script execution via unencoded back parameter
Published Apr 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Cross-site scripting in DerbyNet 9.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through playlist.php. playlist.php passes the unencoded back query parameter to make_banner as a navigation target, placing attacker-controlled markup in the response. Exploitation requires an authenticated victim to open a crafted URL, after which the script runs in that victim's DerbyNet origin.
