CVE-2024-30804Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via unrestricted driver IOCTLs

Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025

Privilege escalation in ASUS Fan Xpert before 10013 allows local users to execute elevated code through crafted IOCTL requests. The AsInsHelp64.sys and analogous AsInsHelp32.sys dispatcher lets low-privileged callers map arbitrary physical memory and access I/O ports without checking caller privileges. Any local low-privileged process able to open the driver can gain high-privilege code execution or disclose kernel-accessible data.
