Subscriber-level content modification via unchecked update_texts
Published Apr 30, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ACF Front End Editor 2.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify arbitrary WordPress content. The update_texts() function accepts submitted post titles, post bodies, and ACF field values and writes them without checking the caller's capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to alter stored site content and custom-field data belonging to arbitrary posts.
