Unauthenticated PHP object injection via cookie deserialization
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
PHP object injection in Last Viewed Posts by WPBeginner 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject objects via an HTTP cookie. The cookie-processing path deserializes attacker-controlled LastViewedPosts data without restricting which PHP classes can be instantiated. No authentication is required, but file deletion, sensitive-data retrieval, or code execution requires a usable POP chain from another installed plugin or theme.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
