Router crash via unbounded PPPoE password
Published Mar 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda F1202 1.2.0.20(408) allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to crash the router. The formQuickIndex handler processes the PPPOEPassword request parameter without enforcing the destination stack buffer's capacity. The request requires no privileges or user interaction, and the documented consequence is a service crash rather than data disclosure or modification.
