Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized textarea settings

Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025

Stored XSS in the Save as Image Plugin by PDFCrowd before 3.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. Textarea-based settings accept and persist invalid HTML without sanitization, then render the stored content without context-appropriate escaping. Administrator privileges and a victim viewing the affected output are required; multisite installations remain exposed even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
