Cross-account profile modification via trusted item_id
Published Nov 4, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Chamilo LMS 1.11.26 allows remote authenticated users to alter other users' profile links. The main/auth/profile.php handler trusts the submitted item_id when saving LinkedIn and Skype URLs instead of binding the update to the logged-in account. Any non-administrator account can overwrite those fields on an administrator or another user, while the demonstrated impact is limited to profile-data integrity.
