Authenticated code execution via deviceMac stack overflow
Published Mar 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1203 Firmware 2.0.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via crafted deviceMac input. The addWifiMacFilter handler accepts deviceMac without enforcing its destination stack buffer's length, allowing adjacent stack data to be overwritten. Low-privilege access to the router's network management interface is required; exploitation can take control of the firmware process or crash it.
