Authenticated router compromise via mitInterface stack overflow
Published Mar 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda FH1202 firmware 1.2.0.14(408) allows remote authenticated users to compromise the router via mitInterface. The fromAddressNat function fails to bound attacker-controlled mitInterface data before placing it in stack storage. Adjacent-network access and low-privilege authentication are required; successful exploitation can crash the router or alter control flow in the firmware process.
