Unauthenticated command execution via c4-IPAddr injection
Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Command injection in NETGEAR R6850 firmware 1.1.0.88 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the c4-IPAddr parameter. The ping-test handler incorporates c4-IPAddr into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No authentication or user interaction is required, and injected commands run in the router firmware's execution context.
