Admin notice dismissal via missing nonce validation
Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in Login With Ajax 4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to dismiss administrator notices through forged requests. The dismiss_admin_notice() function accepts the state-changing request without correctly validating a WordPress nonce tied to the action. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to open attacker-controlled content, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to notice dismissal.
