IP-based blocking bypass via trusted proxy headers
Published May 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Authentication bypass in Gemini Labs Site Reviews before 7.0.0 allows remote attackers to evade IP-based review-submission blocks. The client-IP resolver accepts X-Forwarded-For and CF-Connecting-IP values supplied directly in a review request instead of restricting them to trusted proxies. An unauthenticated requester can therefore rotate the recorded source address and defeat configured IP-based blacklists or submission limits.
