CVE-2024-3043Network attack vector

Network denial of service via PAN-ID reassignment

Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Denial of service in Silicon Laboratories Zigbee EmberZNet SDK before 8.0.0 allows remote attackers to disrupt Zigbee nodes. The stack accepts an unauthenticated IEEE 802.15.4 co-ordinator realignment packet and replaces the node's PAN ID with the supplied identifier. An attacker able to transmit into the target Zigbee network can detach affected nodes from their configured network, interrupting Zigbee service.
