Unauthenticated device availability loss
Published Apr 7, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Improper permission control in Huawei HarmonyOS 3.1.0 and 4.0.0 and EMUI 13.0.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt device availability. The flaw is in the window management module, but Huawei has not disclosed the protected resource, missing permission check, or input that triggers the failure. Exploitation requires no authentication or user action; Huawei reports only availability impact and does not identify whether the result is a hang, crash, or reboot.
