CVE-2024-30405Network attack vector

Transit traffic interruption via ALG buffer miscalculation

Published Apr 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024

Incorrect buffer-size calculation in Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX 5000 SPC2 systems allows remote attackers to interrupt transit traffic. Juniper identifies the flaw in ALG packet processing but has not disclosed the buffer calculation or allocation operation performed on crafted packets. Exposure requires an SRX 5000 Series device with an SPC2 card and at least one ALG enabled; continued crafted-packet traffic sustains the interruption.
