RPD crash via crafted EVPN type-5 route
Published Apr 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in the RPD component of Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash RPD via BGP. RPD mishandles a specific received EVPN type-5 route in a stack buffer, causing the daemon to crash and restart. EVPN must be configured; continuous receipt of the route sustains the service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
