Routing-service crash via crafted routing update
Published Apr 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper exception handling in rpd in Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash rpd with a crafted routing update. The daemon processes the update into memory corruption rather than safely rejecting the exceptional condition; Juniper has not disclosed the precise corrupted object or code path. The flaw is reachable without authentication only when CBF uses a policy map containing cos-next-hop-map, and its reported consequence is an rpd core and routing-service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
