User-assisted code execution via freed Annotation object
Published Apr 2, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Use-after-free in Annotation handling in Foxit PDF Reader 2023.3.0.23028 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The parser performs operations on an Annotation object without confirming that the object still exists after it has been freed. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious PDF, and code runs in the current process.
