Administrator-only directory disclosure via unconstrained browse path
Published Apr 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in BackUpWordPress 3.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to browse directories outside the WordPress site root. The directory-browsing handler uses the hmbkp_directory_browse value without enforcing that the requested directory remains within the permitted root. Administrator-level access is required, and the documented consequence is disclosure of directory contents rather than file modification or service interruption.
