Unauthenticated privilege escalation via case-sensitive API filtering
Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper authentication in Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server 2020 Update 3 and 2022.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to escalate privileges. The login.js middleware compares protected path fragments case-sensitively while Express routes them case-insensitively, so mixed-case server API requests bypass JWT authentication. No credentials or user interaction are required; exposed APIs allow task access and modification, script upload, and conditional batch execution when the task user is logged in.
