Restricted PDF disclosure via absolute attachment URLs
Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Information disclosure in XWiki SAS PDF Viewer Macro (Pro) 2.5.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read restricted PDFs. The macro treats an absolute attachment URL in the file parameter as fetchable content without enforcing the source page's view rights, even when asauthor is false. Edit rights permit creation of the crafted macro call; view-only access works when a public page already contains such a URL, and the demonstrated consequence is PDF disclosure.
