CVE-2024-30262Network attack vector

Persistent account access via unrevoked login tokens

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Session expiration failure in Contao before 4.13.40 allows remote authenticated users to retain account access with a stolen persistent-login token. The password-change paths in ModuleChangePassword, ModulePassword, and ModulePersonalData update the password without deleting the member's stored login tokens. Attackers must first obtain a valid token; later password changes do not revoke it, so the token continues to authenticate as the compromised member.
