Stored XSS via unsanitized Custom Rel Tag
Published Jul 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Max Foundry MaxButtons before 9.7.8 allows remote authenticated users with Editor access to inject script through button settings. The button editor stores the Custom Rel Tag without sanitizing or escaping attribute content, so crafted text becomes executable markup. A victim must view the published shortcode button and hover over it, allowing script execution in that visitor's browser context.
