CVE-2024-30248Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator session compromise via inline SVG scripts

Published Apr 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored cross-site scripting in Piccolo Admin 1.2.0 through 1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to act as an administrator. The media-file route mounts the upload directory through StaticFiles without a restrictive Content Security Policy, so an uploaded SVG executes scripts in the admin page's origin when an administrator opens it. An enabled admin panel, an SVG-capable media field, absent protective proxy headers, attacker upload access, and administrator interaction are required; the script can read, create, modify, or delete admin-managed records.
