CVE-2024-30211

Local privilege escalation

Published Feb 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Improper access control in Intel Management Engine Drivers before 2422.6.2.0 allows local users to escalate privileges. The flaw is in Management Engine driver pack installer engines, but Intel has not disclosed which access-control check is missing or which operation crosses a privilege boundary. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, high-complexity conditions, and active interaction, allowing compromise of host confidentiality and integrity without service interruption.
