CVE-2024-30191

Frame decryption via security-context reassociation

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024

Authentication bypass in Siemens SCALANCE W700 devices allows physically proximate attackers to decrypt a victim's Wi-Fi frames. During Wi-Fi association, an affected device binds a newly negotiated, attacker-controlled security context to frames belonging to a victim, causing those frames to be processed under the attacker's keys. Exploitation requires adjacent wireless access, low privileges, and victim interaction; the bounded result is disclosure of frames intended for the victim.
