Authenticated file disclosure via filename path traversal
Published Mar 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Path traversal in HCL AppScan Traffic Recorder 1.0.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to access files outside its restricted directory. The filename handler inadequately neutralizes special characters before resolving a supplied name, allowing traversal beyond the intended directory. Access requires low-privilege network authentication, and HCL's published vector limits the demonstrated consequence to low-impact disclosure.
