CVE-2024-30089

SYSTEM privilege escalation via undisclosed use-after-free

Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Use-after-free in Microsoft Streaming Service on affected Windows releases allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges through local code. Microsoft identifies reuse of released memory but does not disclose the affected driver, routine, object lifetime, or triggering input. A low-privileged local user must execute code on the host; successful exploitation gives complete control within the existing system security scope.
