CVE-2024-30088Known exploitationPublic exploit

SYSTEM privilege escalation via security-attribute copy race

Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Privilege escalation in the Windows Kernel on Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The AuthzBasepCopyoutInternalSecurityAttributes routine validates a user-mode destination pointer, then later copies token security attributes through that pointer, allowing a race to redirect the kernel write. Successful exploitation requires local low-privileged access and winning the race; the resulting kernel-memory write enables SYSTEM-level code execution.
