CVE-2024-30078

Adjacent code execution via unchecked VLAN length

Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Improper input validation in the Windows Wi-Fi driver allows remote attackers to execute code via adjacent wireless packets. In nwifi.sys, Dot11Translate80211ToEthernetNdisPacket reads an 802.1Q VLAN header without first verifying that the received buffer contains the additional four bytes. An unauthenticated attacker within wireless range can send a crafted frame that causes an out-of-bounds access and execute code in the affected system context.
