Code execution via undisclosed use-after-free
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Use-after-free in Windows Standards-Based Storage Management Service on affected Windows Server releases allows attackers to execute code. Microsoft has not publicly identified the faulty code locus or malformed input that causes freed memory to be reused. Exploitation requires no prior privileges but does require user interaction, and successful exploitation runs code in the victim context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
