Code execution via malicious dump-file debugging

Remote code execution in Microsoft Visual Studio 2017, 2019, and 2022 allows local users to execute code by debugging a crafted dump file. The debugger processes an attacker-supplied file with an appropriate extension embedded in the dump, but Microsoft has not disclosed the exact parser or failed protection check. Exploitation requires the target user to open and debug the crafted dump, and successful exploitation can modify data or code in that user's security context.
