System crash via CLFS out-of-bounds read
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in the Windows Common Log File System driver allows local users to crash affected Windows systems via crafted input. Microsoft identifies the driver and weakness but has not published the affected routine, input field, or bounds-checking error. Exploitation requires a local user with low privileges; the published vector limits the direct consequence to system availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
