SYSTEM privilege escalation via out-of-bounds read
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025
Elevation of privilege in Microsoft Windows SCSI Class System File allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges through local access. Microsoft identifies an out-of-bounds read but has not published the affected routine, attacker-controlled input, or invalid read operation. Existing low-privileged access is required, and the resulting SYSTEM context grants full control of the affected host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
