Plaintext password storage in Sharp and Toshiba Tec MFP firmware allows remote attackers to recover user credentials from core dumps. The firmware decrypts stored user passwords into the main process's memory before any user logs in, so generated core dumps retain plaintext values. Retrieval requires access to the printer's network and a separate flaw that exposes core-dump files; the leaked credentials enable printer compromise.
