Command execution via unauthenticated eval injection
Published Jun 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in Zyxel NAS326 and NAS542 firmware allows remote attackers to execute commands through crafted HTTP POST data. The unauthenticated /cmd,/simZysh/register_main/setCookie route passes attacker-controlled controller, action, and argument text into Python eval(). A substring-based authentication exclusion exposes the route remotely, and injected subprocess calls run commands under the web server account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
