Improper input validation in Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform allows remote attackers to bypass risky SPL safeguards via browser requests. The Dashboard Examples Hub processes a request without applying the protections for risky SPL commands; Splunk has not disclosed the exact validation operation. A victim must be phished into initiating the request, and Enterprise is exposed only when Splunk Web and Dashboard Studio are running; successful abuse can read or alter data.
