Authenticated service crash via oversized MAC parameter
Published Mar 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1203 2.0.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router's HTTP service via a crafted request. The GetParentControlInfo handler accepts an oversized mac parameter and writes beyond its stack-based storage boundary without enforcing the expected input length. Access to the web management interface is required, and the published proof of concept demonstrates service interruption rather than code execution.
