CVE-2024-29836Network attack vector

Account takeover via unauthenticated USER_CHANGE processing

Published Apr 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper access control in CS Technologies Evolution Controller 2.04.560.31.03.2024 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over accounts. The USER_CHANGE path returns a logged-out error but still processes unauthenticated requests that add or update user profiles. Exposure of the optional web interface to a reachable network is sufficient; created profiles obtain full site access, including physical access controls.
