Authenticated code execution via unbounded cmdinput copy
Published Mar 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1202 1.2.0.14(408) allows remote authenticated users to execute code via cmdinput. The formexeCommand handler passes attacker-controlled cmdinput to strcpy, which copies it into the fixed 512-byte v7 stack buffer without a length check. Low-privileged management access is required, and an oversized value corrupts stack control data, enabling code execution or a router crash.
