CVE-2024-2973Network attack vector

Unauthenticated device takeover via alternate API path

Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Authentication bypass in Juniper Session Smart Router allows remote attackers to take full control through the management API. Juniper identifies an alternate API path or channel that skips authentication when a router or conductor has a redundant peer, but has not disclosed the affected endpoint or validation error. Exposure is limited to high-availability configurations, and successful exploitation grants complete control of Session Smart Router, Session Smart Conductor, or WAN Assurance Router devices.
