Arbitrary code execution via forged homepage generation
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in DedeCMS 5.7 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the homepage-generation endpoint. The makehtml_homepage.php endpoint accepts a forged POST selecting the template and output position, then performs homepage generation without verifying that the request was intentionally submitted. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator's browser to submit the attacker's form, placing the resulting actions within that administrator's privileges.
