Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped settings
Published Mar 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Backie WP-Eggdrop 0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through administrative settings. The administrative settings path stores input without adequate sanitization, and plugin pages render those values without context-appropriate escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and the issue is reachable only on multisite installations or where unfiltered_html is disabled; visiting an affected page executes the stored script in that user's browser.
