CVE-2024-2965

Process crash via uncontrolled sitemap recursion

Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2025

Denial of service in LangChain SitemapLoader before 0.2.5 allows attackers to crash the Python process with a self-referential sitemap. The parse_sitemap method follows nested sitemap locations recursively without tracking visited URLs or limiting recursion depth. Exploitation requires attacker-influenced sitemap content to reach SitemapLoader, and the resulting recursion can consume server resources and interrupt the dependent service.
