Stored script execution via unescaped plugin settings
Published Mar 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Marubon Pocket News Generator 0.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler stores values such as Consumer Key and Access Token without sufficient sanitization, and the settings page emits them without context-appropriate escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and the issue affects only multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; injected JavaScript runs when a user opens the affected page.
